The Imperial Russian Ballet is presented on December 18 at the Cartuja Center Cite with a classic Shakespeare: 'Romeo and Juliet', which is one of the best known works of world literature. The Imperial Russian Ballet was created in 1994 by Maya Plisetskaya. Within its repertoire, this Romeo and Juliet stands out. Prokofiev was the first composer who composed a true Shakespearean ballet, one of the best ballets of the 20th century. It was in 1940 when "Romeo and Juliet" premiered at the Kirov theater in St. Petersburg, and in 1946, with the same choreography by Leonid Lavrovsky, this ballet triumphed on the Moscow stage of the Bolshoi.

This version they present now premiered in February 2004 and is the adaptation of the famous choreography of Leonid Lavrovsky by his son Mikhail Lavrovsky, who in the productions of his father successfully played the role of Romeo.
