The City Council and the Board of the Real Alcazar in collaboration with the Social Work La Caixa and Cajasol Foundation will work together to promote the work of this Sevillian artist, a great exponent of abstract art. The exhibition of the Royal Alcazar will show 51 sculptures and paintings of Luis Gordillo entitled Heads, and this is the main theme in all his works, in which we see works from his beginnings in the '60s to the present. The works made in recent years will have a special section in which Gordillo leaves behind the voluptuousness and artifice to use a more schematic and pure technique. These works have become a benchmark for artists of our generation. 10 years ago, in honor of his 70th anniversary there was an exhibition in Seville, where 150 works in his early years as an artist were collected. This time, it tries to reflect the artist in full maturity and his more contemporary facet. These days, Seville will intende to be the focus and reference of abstract art.
