From 20 to 23 December 2017 at the Conference and Exhibition Centre FIBES

The musical show based on the popular historical novel The Physician by Noah Gordon is presented for the first time in a world premiere in Seville.

Created by the composer Iván Macías and the writer Félix Amador, they presented the project to Gordon and his son, also his manager, who immediately saw it as a very good project.

Initially the show will be symphonic, without stage design, with 80 musicians and 30 actors in a proposal that had a resounding yes from the author. After a year of touring, they are planning to start working on scenery, with Mike Ashcroft and stage designer Derek Lane, both renowned on Broadway.

The best seller written by the American writer in 1986 was the beginning of the trilogy on the Cole family, followed by Shaman and Matters of Choice.

In this first installment it tells the story of Rob Cole, an orphaned English child hosted by a rogue healer who makes him an apprentice until his death. After that, with a deep vocation and a gift for healing, he crosses paths with Benjamin Merlin, a Jewish doctor who encourages him to overcome himself and make the dream of training in Medicine a reality by telling him about the eminent Avicenna doctor and the school where he teaches in Persia. A long way of posing as a Jew to study in a place that does not admit Christians. During this period he will experience moments of struggle, difficulties, love and respect.

The show will be performed from 20 to 23 December at 8.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday and 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
