Next January 4 and 5,2018 at the Maestranza Theatre.

As every January it is a privilege to have the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville inaugurating the new year in the best possible way, with music! The director of this great event will be John Axelrod, and the guest artist is the soprano Nadja Michael. The title that will give the name to this concert is UN NUEVO AÑO CON BESOS, and includes pieces by Johann Strauss, Rudolf E. Kálmán, Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin.

The concert will start on the 4th at 20.30 pm and on the 5th at 12:00 m. Tickets will be priced between 30 and 40 euros depending on the theatre area where you are located and they can be purchased on the website http://www.generaltickets.com and at the theatre box office.

The Orchestra was founded in 1990 by the Junta de Andalucía and Seville City Council. It was not until 1995 when the present King Emeritus Juan Carlos I granted them the title of Real. During their 25 years of experience, they have managed to take the orchestra to the top, becoming an undisputed asset of the city. With more than 100 professors of many different nationalities, John Axelrod is currently Managing Director and Artistic and Musical Director of Vjekoslav Šutej (from its foundation until 1996), Klaus Weise (from 1997 to 2000), Alain Lombard (from 2001 to 2003) and Pedro Halffter (from 2004 to 2014).

The Orchestra's main activity is concentrated on the Subscription Concert that takes place at the Maestranza Theatre, in addition to the national and international tour and the festivals that they visit.
