Roman theaters of AndalusiaThe programming of Andalucia Roman Theaters cycle will take place from July 10 to September 27, this time it comes with a extension of dates and functions, from 9 to 12 weeks and 23 to 36 performances. This cycle allows enjoying performances of classic Greco-Roman theater in the Ancient Sites for excursions of Italica (Santiponce, Sevilla), Baelo Claudia (Tarifa) and the Roman Theatre of Malaga. With this program theaters as the archaeological sites linked to them are revalued, retrieving and highlighting our Roman past. The program seeks to value the Andalusian Roman past under the premise of conserving space, while offering new cultural activities to the public and provide opportunities to Andalusian creative industries. The program will begin on July 10 at the Roman Theatre of Archaeological Ensemble of Italica, in Seville, and end on September 27 in the Roman Theatre of Malaga.

Italica, with capacity for 758 spectators, opened the season with 12 performances from July 10 to August 2; is followed by Baleo Claudia (450 seats) with 12 performances between July 1 and August 23, and will end at the Roman Theatre of Málaga (450 seats) with another 12 stage effects from 4 to 27 September. There will be at total 36 performances in charge of seven companies, most of them Andalusian. These theater groups have been selected by an advisory committee after a public call, to which thirty projects were presented. Several of them will repeat function in more than one of the scenic areas. Moreover, in the context of this cycle will also take place the First International Forum of Romans Theatres of Andalusia, which will take place on 10 and 11 July at the Central Theatre of Seville. Its objective is to converse various approaches around these unique areas: the archaeological search and discovery, with architectural restoration and conservation, and creative who writes and imagine shows, with the coach, adapting and operating.
