From South Sea to the construction of a new ocean scenario" will take place in Seville from 23 to 27 September. Check our offers of accommodation in the center of Seville. It provides a great opportunity for collaboration between the three main institutions Americanists of the city: the University of Leeds, School of Hispano-American Studies (CSIC) and the Archivo General de Indias. With the main objective to work together in organizing activities to commemorate the V Centenary of the Discovery of the South Sea. It is the first time that these three institutions organize a conference of this magnitude with interdisciplinary Pacific starring and involving experts in history, geography, architecture, archeology or art, from countries as diverse as Spain, Italy, France, Mexico, Peru, Chile, USA and Taiwan. The University Auditorium will host the inaugural conference Monday 23, which will give way to a dozen thematic panels and side events. As a result of Congress, will be released a publication with the best communications that seek to become a scientific Pacific issues.
