Procession Virgen de los Reyes 2014Come and enjoy on August 15, the procession of the Virgen de los Reyes 2014 in Seville. The Virgen de los Reyes is the patroness of the city of Seville, and on 15 August commemorating the feast of the Assumption, leave in procession as every year through the area around the Cathedral.

Legend tells that Fernando III found the image of the Virgen de los Reyes when was conquering Seville, and who accompanied him during the reconquest, and could even get to chair the procession on the occasion of the capture of our city in the year 1248. It was in 1946 when Pius XII proclaimed the Virgen de los Reyes as patroness of Seville, and received the Gold Medal of the city in 1958. The procession will begin around 8 am from the Puerta de Palos of the Cathedral and go around this area: Alemanes Street, Constitution Avenue, Archivo de Indias and Plaza del Triunfo to the Puerta de Palos of the Cathedral. The duration is estimated at about an hour and a half.
